Sculptra™

Sculptra™ is a new injectable product used to counteract the loss of fat beneath the skin (a condition called lipoatrophy). Sculptra is injected into the deep dermis layer of the skin to improve the appearance of sunken cheeks, hollow eyes, indentations and wrinkles. Its main component is an alpha hydroxy acid that has been used for 20 years in surgical products such as dissolvable sutures. There is no need for allergy testing. Clinical trials have shown that the benefits of Sculptra treatments can last up to two years.

Laser Tattoo Removal

Many people have second thoughts about their tattoos. Fortunately, you don't have to live with your decision forever. Highly precise lasers such as the state-of-the-art Q-Switch Laser can lighten or remove your tattoo by focusing or pulsing light on the ink particles, which then convert the energy to heat and break up into tiny pieces that are absorbed harmlessly by the body. All this can be accomplished without damaging the surrounding tissue and leaving little to no scarring. Results can generally be seen within a few weeks, although larger and darker tattoos may require more treatments than smaller, lighter ones. Occasionally treated skin will look whiter (paler) than the skin around it, but this is usually temporary and fades in the months following treatment. At Aesthetica we can treat black and blue tattoos and other colors as well.

Blu-U™

This is a revolutionary, new in-office treatment that can clear mild to moderate inflammatory acne without side effects. BLU-U directs intense blue light to the treatment area to eliminate the p. acnes bacteria that cause acne. It kills the bacteria that case the outbreaks in 4 treatments.

Levulinic Acid and Light Therapy

Blue Light or Laser (IPL) Acne Treatment are very effective acne therapies, but when we pre-treat the skin with amino levulinic acid - a powerful light sensitizing agent, the potency of these light based acne treatments increases exponentially. Levulinic Acid and Light Therapy give outstanding results, even for the most severe or resistant cystic acne without dangerous side effects. Sun-damaged skin can also be treated.

Vein Revision by Laser and Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is the standard treatment for varicose and spider veins. A special sclerosing solution is injected into the diseased vein, which then collapses and is gradually absorbed by the body. By the end of the treatment program, the veins are less visible on the skin surface. Sclerotherapy usually also relieves symptoms associated with enlarged veins and prevents further complications. A minimum of two to three treatments is usually needed. Another tool for vein therapy offered at Aesthetica are laser treatments. The laser aims carefully controlled pulses of narrow-wavelength light at the damaged veins. The veins absorb the light and heat up, then collapse and close. They are then gradually re-absorbed by the body. Normal activities can be resumed immediately.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy involves the injection of small amounts of medications and other substances into the mesoderm, the layer of fat and connective tissue beneath the skin. Invented in France in 1952, today mesotherapy is used for a variety of cosmetic purposes, including cellulite and spot weight reduction, hair loss, scar revision and skin rejuvenation. It may be an attractive alternative to tumescent liposuction for patients wishing to reduce cellulite or lose excess weight.
