Varicose Veins Can Be Injected Away

Varicose veins are a real nuisance. They may ache, but seldom cause serious problems. They can be very unsightly though and some of our patients report they no longer wear shorts or a swimming suit because of them. For most varicose veins, which seem to come in a variety of sizes and colors, they can be treated simply and efficiently with sclerotherapy.

A special solution is injected into each vein and this causes the vein to collapse and eventually be reabsorbed by the body.

Usually at least 2 to 3 treatments are needed at a minimum. Our patients wear compression hose after the injections which improve the effectiveness of the treatment. There are some lasers that are designed to treat these veins, but in our experience these laser treatments work better on the veins of the face, especially around the nose and cheeks.
