Eyebrow Microblading In Austin
A SAFE AND EFFECTIVE METHOD TO THICKEN YOUR EYEBROWS
Eyebrow Microblading is a permanent makeup technique that has quickly grown in popularity over recent years thanks to the incredibly detailed, accurate and natural results that it offers. Thin, sparse brows are a thing of the past, and for those who have been guilty of over-plucking their eyebrows, or simply have naturally thin or light brows, microblading is a fantastic way to achieve strong yet natural-looking brows, without the need to apply brow liner or gel every single day.
How Does Eyebrow Microblading Work?
Eyebrow Microblading is essentially a form of tattooing. Rather than using an electric tattoo gun to implant pigment into the skin, technicians use a handheld tool, with a very thin blade, to draw hairlike strokes onto the skin. The pigment is not implanted into the skin as deep as with regular tattoos, which ensures the strokes don’t become to dark and harsh.
Is Microblading Permanent?
Microblading is only semi-permanent. Results tend to last up to three years and it is advised to have touch-ups once every six months to maintain the same look, but it means that if in a few years you’d like to return to your natural brows, or you’d like to adjust the shape of the brows, you can simply wait for the pigment to fade.
Does Microblading Hurt?
Although microblading sounds like a daunting procedure, it is not terribly uncomfortable. Pain is relative and differs from person to person. Topical numbing cream is usually applied to keep discomfort to a minimum. Generally, it tends to feel like the skin is being scratched, and once the procedure is over the area may feel a little sore for up to a day.
How Long Does the Procedure Take?
Microblading technicians often block off up to two hours for the procedure. This allows for plenty of time to talk through your requirements and to draw in the shape of the brows with a removable pencil. This allows you to check that you’re completely happy with the shape, size and placement of the brows, before any permanent pigment is used.
Do I need to Pluck, Wax or Shave My Brows off Before Microblading?
There’s usually no need to remove your existing brow hairs before undergoing microblading. In fact, it is usually preferred to leave your natural brows, as the technician can use them as a guideline. Eyebrow Microblading tends to focus on filling in patchy areas, adding a touch of extra volume to the brow or emphasizing the shape. Following your natural brow line allows technicians to create a natural look that works with your facial features and bone structure.
How Long is Recovery from Microblading?
Recovery from microblading is quick and generally has no side-effects. It takes around 7 to 14 days for the skin to completely heal, during which time you must avoid getting the brows wet or applying makeup to the area. This will allow the incisions to scab over and heal.
Since the incisions are very small and superficial, scabbing is barely noticeable but can cause a little itching and redness. It’s also important to note that the brows will initially look darker than expected, which may take some getting used to. However, the color tends to fade by up to 30 or 40 percent over the following weeks and long term results will look incredibly natural.
